Character creation and new 3d print
A friend asked me to create his mascot in 3d to create a preview movie for him. This character was created in A:M, textured with 3d-Coat and A:M, has been rigged and animated in A:M. I will show more about that later. First of, I want to show this newly printed rabbit. It took about 2.75h to print at 0.2mm layer height using my Makerbot Replicator 2.

Display-Holder
After a few month of storage a display holder was lost for one of the displays of my company. To replace it, I used Animation:Master and my Makerbot Replicator 2 to model and print it. You can see it already: It works in my tests and seems to be capable of holding the pressure without a problem since some hours. This is the 4th prototype of this part till I got the angle right and the size exactly fitting.

Makerbot Replicator 2: Wood filament Print
A new print with a new filament type: Wood. It was really easy to do that with the new adjustable extruder. Adjusted the pressure, used the same temperatures like with PLA-prints and it worked out great. The result smells like warm wood and feels like cork. The rought texture is not a problem with the filament but with the model. It was hard to print even with standard PLA (although it looks a little bit better there) since this has large ...

Makerbot Replicator 2: Adjustable Extruder
My new Adjustable Extruder is the new extruder update I am working with since 1 week now and I have to say, that it is the best I had till now. It replaces my spring driven extruder which did do a decent job too till I tried to print with Soft-PLA with it since the spring based extruder always used the same pressur for feeding the filament to the extruder itelf and that did not work out for SoftPLA. My new extruder printing with SoftPLA, the ...

Owl-Print
A small but nice 3d print of the common Owl model to fill the time till the screws for my new adjustable extruder are delivered. With this new extruder I hope to be able to print Soft-PLA successfully, which I can not print till now, very likely because my static, spring-based extruder has only one pressure setting and needs a less high pressure for the softer material to be transported correctly. The new extruder can be adjusted using a small ...
