WebCam shutter by 3d printer
Older webcams deserve a shutter too, so someone isn’t watching when they shouldn’t ;). My attempts to build an exactly round, perfectly fitting lid were unfortunately not immediately successful (FDM printers rarely manage to deliver exactly round results. Most of the time they become slightly oval or at least not completely round when there are thin edges. Thus, I then decided to take a different approach and built a push-on design from ...

Keyboard stands like to break...
The day before yesterday, my 1.5 liter water bottle fell on my upturned keyboard. It was locked, but the force of the impact alone caused the little stand for raising the keyboard to break, and so the usual keyboard wobble started. Normally this would be the moment you buy a new keyboard because a 2.5cm by 1.5cm by 2mm thick piece of plastic with no moving parts broke. I found that somehow... wasteful of resources. You just have to know how to help yourself...
A mishap and "too" floating parquet are a certain problem in times of Corona. 3d print: happy easter egg
Today I just printed out a bunch of Easter eggs that I hope will be a nice surprise for colleagues (when you’re back in the office sometime). Until then, I’d like to show some, I think quite interesting and successful pictures of the eggs, showing how the layer structures are built up, how something looks like at 300 micrometer layer height in FDM and that, depending on heat and material, sometimes threads form in cavities, which can be ...

Small 3d-print: Headphone (Bluetooth) charging problem helper
I’ve been having problems with my Bluetooth headphones lately, because sometimes they just wouldn’t charge anymore. After a little testing I found out what the problem is: The magnets (at least one of them) in the charging case are not strong enough to attract the earpieces properly. This makes them quite useless, because I would have to press the earpieces by hand or e.g. with adhesive tape into the case and charge them. I have done this ...
